Planned Parenthood
is the #1 murderer Planned Parenthood rents office space at 204 E. Edgewater Street in Portage. That property is owned by "Dorn Properties" (stated on the tax bill). Dennis Dorn controls that property, and is also an officer of Portage Lumber. Together with Portage Lumber Mr. Dorn runs a franchise of the DO-IT Best Hardware Stores. Although it is a corporation, and he does not "own" Portage Lumber, Mr. Dorn is one of the people who control the business, profits from it, and also profits from leasing office space to baby murderers at 204 E. Edgewater Street. Dennis Dorn is also a Catholic. The Catholic Catechism, in paragraph 2272, states that "Formal cooperation in an abortion constitutes a grave offense. The Church attaches the canonical penalty of excommunication to this crime against human life." He should know better, but he opposes the infallible Catholic pope and agrees with contraception. He says he is personally against abortion, but it doesn't seem to bother him that the Portage office sets up appointments so that women can have their babies murdered. In a taped phone conversation (see below), Mr. Dorn told me that there are no medical procedures done at the Portage Planned Parenthood office, which I knew. I informed him that they do refer people to killing centers throughout the state to murder their babies, but he was unmoved. I contacted his pastor at the Catholic Church, and informed him of my plans to boycott Portage Lumber. He suggested I send a letter to Mr. Dorn first, and said he would sign it if two or three other pastors would sign. When I finally got a number of pastors to sign the letter, Mr. Dorn's pastor said that for various reasons he couldn't sign it (something to do with the wording about encouraging his congregation to boycott Dorn's business), but he eventually agreed to hand deliver the letter to Mr. Dorn. The letter is now in his hands, and should be delivered within the next few days. I'll keep you updated. If Mr. Dorn will not end his lease with Planned Parenthood, we will begin to spread the news about this boycott far and wide through printed literature, buttons and ads, pickets of his store and residence, and whatever else we can think of to bring this to the attention of good citizens. Please help with this effort by sending us a donation. This will help defray the costs of signs, printing, buttons, gas, etc. UPDATE! We are not yet going through with the boycott. I spoke with Dennis Dorn on October 7, 2008, and he told me that he had been in contact with Planned Parenthood, and with his brother (his business partner in that property), and it may happen that they will terminate the lease they have with Planned Parenthood. He told me that they are discussing whether it's the right thing to do, and if it is, that they will terminate the lease, but they need to meet with the new director of the Portage Planned Parenthood to see how they will implement that. I asked Dennis if I could call him again on October 17th to see what the status was, and he agreed, so I said I would postpone the boycott for the time being. Please pray that Dennis and his brother do the right thing, and pray that, if their lease is terminated, Planned Parenthood will not be able to find office space in Portage. Pray also that Planned Parenthood will not be able to purchase property for a new office. If they do find office space in Portage, we will boycott, picket and shame any person or organization that rents to them. UPDATE: 10/24/08! BOYCOTT PORTAGE LUMBER! We are going ahead with the boycott. I spoke with Dennis Dorn today (owner of Portage Lumber) and he said that although he was not able to sit down with Planned Parenthood officers face-to-face, he did speak with them by phone, and he told me that Planned Parenthood would be looking for another place to rent. He told me that he couldn't just tell them to "get out." When I asked him when the lease ran out for PP, he said, "That's none of your business." He said that the time frame for PP moving was something like Spring of 2009. After a not-so-pleasant conversation, he hung up on me after I questioned his faith and his "respect" for Planned Parenthood. I told him that what he was doing was no different than renting to Nazis during WWII. I was hoping that we could resolve this without a boycott, but Mr. Dorn has not shown much more than a shallow concern about a boycott, and although he says he is "pro-life," he shows little (if any) urgency in booting these baby killers out of his building. I will update you all as soon as the signs and other boycott materials are ready for distribution. In the meantime, you can do the following: Do not shop at Portage Lumber, or the DO-It Center Hardware Store in Portage! Tell everyone you meet not to buy there. Email me for printed materials to hand out to friends and associates (free). Read my cover letter to pastors. Read the letter to Dennis Dorn, signed by pastors. Read the transcript of my phone conversation with Dennis Dorn. Listen to or download audio
recording of our phone conversation.* *If you want to listen directly, then left-click. If you want to download the audio file, then right-click and save to your computer. |
